Connie Woodson, Vocal Director
Connie Woodson is acclaimed as a singing actress. She toured with Robert Goulet and was a featured performer in Mr. Goulet's Las Vegas shows and his national tour of "Carousel". Ms. Woodson also toured with Johnny Mathis, appearing on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson. She recorded with The Carpenters at the famous A&M Studios in Hollywood. Ms. Woodson owned "Rhapsody", a Supper Club in Pasadena, California. Connie produced, directed, choreographed and starred in the entertainment at "Rhapsody" performing opera, musical theatre and jazz standards with her singing partner, Don Snyder, and other national entertainers. Operatically, Ms. Woodson sang the title role of "Susannah" to great acclaim with New York City Opera's Norman Treigle as Olin Blitch. Ms. Woodson conducts the Ojai Community Chorus, a non-profit organization, performing diverse programs of classic choral repertoire and contemporary secular music. Her concerts often incorporate scripted programs and choreography to compliment the choral singing. OCC is considered a true community chorus embracing all ages and encouraging Ojai youth to join in the fun. Connie is thrilled to be the vocal coach for the talented young artists performing at OYES.
