Introduction To Acting For Camera

On-Camera Acting Intensive for Teens (age 13+)

With Carrie Ruscheinsky (stage and film Actor), and Nick George (Actor, Certified Alexander Technique Instructor)

Friday, March 15 • 5pm-8pm

Saturday, March 16 • 9am-4pm (with a lunch break)

OYES is excited to offer our first ever acting for the camera weekend intensive! This fun three session course will cover the nuts and bolts of expanding the young actors skills to the joys and challenges of film acting.

Students will playfully explore a deeper understanding of the similarities and differences between acting on stage and on camera. Students will get an introduction to the essential skills of breaking down scenes, making specific and personal character choices, trusting their acting instincts, and play in the framework of the “less is more” film set universe: Hitting your mark, camera angles and on set language abound! “Rolling and Action!”

The intention of this course is to deepen the young actor’s  technique through awareness, play and specific tools. We won’t be focusing on “how to get an agent” or how to be a star” in these workshops, Though it’s fine if you’re curious about those things too.

The intensive will be taught by OYES parents Carrie Ruscheinsky and Nick George both trained stage and film actors who live in Ojai. Short bios below.

*This class will be capped at 12 students,

Carrie Ruscheinsky

Carrie Ruscheinsky is a stage and film actor and current teacher at Oak Grove School. Nick George

Nick George is an actor, AMsAT certified Alexander Technique instructor and performance coach.
