We know it is a big commitment – of your time, trust and resources – to register your student for an OYES program. Please review the information below before registering!

PLEASE NOTE

All OYES rehearsals/classes for all ages are closed, “drop-off” classes. There will be no parent/friend observation or participation in any class at any time. Classes provide final showcases for this purpose).

PROGRAM PARTICIPATION & CANCELLATIONS

Since resources are committed to staffing, licensing/royalties, and materials well before a program takes place, all OYES tuition, deposits, and installment payments are, generally speaking, non-refundable. To avoid disappointment later, please fully review the following policy details:

TUITION • Tuition fees are due at the time of registration. Payment plans available upon request.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS • You may cancel your registration with a cash refund (minus a $25 cancellation fee), your request must be submitted in writing within 48 hours of registration.

After the 48-hour window, cancellations are eligible for a credit (minus the $25 fee) that can be applied to future OYES programming.

If a class does not meet minimum enrollment, OYES may cancel the program and will issue a full refund.

There are no refunds or credits for missed classes. OYES is unable to offer refunds for cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control (such as natural disasters or public health events).

Lights up! I’m blinded, but still manage to make out 30 strange faces staring directly at me.

They’re silent, but the air is breathing with the tense energy – anything can happen. My palms are sweaty, knees are weak, arms are heavy. But I’m not alone; with a shared glance, my fellow improvisers and I check in with each other and start the scene.

Improv (short for improvisation) is a state of being and creating action without pre-planning. Commercially, improv is taught mainly as a comedic art-form, but it can be applied to any spontaneous moment of sudden inventiveness that comes to mind, body, and spirit as an inspiration.

No formal training is needed because we are all born improvisers. However taking a class did help me become more in touch with my intuition by repeatedly placing me in situations where I had to create meaning in a constantly changing environment. I gained insights into my deepest behavioral tendencies and shaped new, quicker and more creative thought patterns.

The lessons I took away improved my life in ways I never would’ve imagined…
