Think of it this way. If Tim Burton and Glee had a baby, it might grow up to look a lot like Ride the Cyclone.

Concord Theatricals:
In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other – the chance to return to life. Through a wondrously funny and touching series of songs, the teen contestants argue that they should be the ones to be saved. Told with moving insights into adolescence as well as dark comedic style benefiting the outrageousness of its premise and with content adjusted especially for high school performers, Ride The Cyclone: Teen Edition is a memorable and original musical.
What makes a life well-lived? Who deserves to have a second chance? Which are the memories that we will treasure? All these questions and more are answered in Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell’s stunning work.
Author-approved Teen Editions are carefully curated to be made suitable for teenage actors and family audiences. These versions soften offensive language and sexual content while maintaining the integrity of the show and preserving the authors’ intent. We are proud to work with our authors and create opportunities for student actors to engage with relevant material in an age-appropriate manner.

Ride the Cyclone premiered at the Metro Studio Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia on March 11, 2009. On November 20, 2016, the musical debuted off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Directed by Rachel Rockwell, the off-Broadway production featured Lillian Castillo, Gus Halper, Karl Hamilton, Taylor Louderman, Emily Rohm, Kholby Wardell and Alex Wyse.

Performance Company Casting Process
1st ROUND OF AUDITIONS TO JOIN PERFORMANCE COMPANY
Actors audition to be considered for placement in the Performance Company cast.
SELECTION NOTIFICATION
Actors will receive an email to book their audition for the production.
2nd ROUND OF AUDITIONS & CALLBACKS FOR ROLE PLACEMENT
CASTING INFORMATION - updated 10/16
Ride the Cyclone is an ensemble-driven musical featuring seven principal roles. We will also be considering double casting and additional ensemble-only dance roles for this production.
Role offers will be made prior to registration. Performers who accept an offered role will be required to complete production registration to confirm their participation.
CAST PRODUCTION MEETING
Actors are called to the first production meeting to receive scripts and music, Artistic overview, and meet the creative team.
EDUCATIONAL COMPONENT
Actors receive training in Laban Efforts, Viewpoints, Vocal Production, and Character Development.
TUITION
$875 - $1,275 (sliding scale, payment plans and scholarships available)
Auditioning performers will be notified of their acceptance by Dec 18

Supportive Tuition – $995
Recommended for participants who are able to pay full cost.

For families who wish to go above and beyond, covering not only their student but also supporting scholarships for others.
Includes special recognition in the program/playbill.

Pay in Full – One-time payment at registration.
Payment Plan (deposit required, auto-billed on due dates):
2 Payments – 50% 1st installment at registration, 1 remaining installment
3 Payments – 35% 1st installment at registration, 2 remaining installments
4 Payments – 35% 1st installment at registration, 3 remaining installments. A $10 payment plan fee applies.

SPRING 2026 | Alice By Heart
Auditions for Alice By Heart will be open to performers age 14-19. This production will be cast by audition only, and callbacks will be included. Younger performers may request to audition. Admission at the discretion of the director.

A young girl takes refuge in a London Tube station during WWII and confronts grief, loss, and love with the help of her favorite book, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
From the Tony® and Grammy® award-winning creators of Spring Awakening, Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik, and co-written by Jessie Nelson (Waitress), Alice by Heart is a touching musical inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice Spencer’s budding teen life is turned upside down, and she and her dear friend Alfred are forced to take shelter in an underground tube station. When the ailing Alfred is quarantined, Alice encourages him to escape with her into their cherished book and journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland.
As they travel through the tale, Alice by Heart explores the poignancy of first love, coming to terms with loss, and finding the courage to move forward. This world premiere musical encourages us all to celebrate the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times.
