Choreography and Creation

Age 9-14

All levels welcome

Go beyond learning choreography.  Learn the art of crafting your own story through movement.

In this class, students will explore the art of dance-making, learning how movement, space, rhythm, and musicality can be used to express ideas and tell stories. Through creative exercises and guided exploration, students will discover choreographic techniques such as canon, accumulation, symmetry, and theme and variation.

With an emphasis on experimentation and individual expression, students will build the skills and confidence to develop their own original dance pieces. No two choreographers are alike, and that's part of the fun!

What ARE students and parents ARE SAYING?

Students:

"It was a great dance class. I got to invent my own dance. She listened to my ideas and gave me really good feedback. I will take another class with her."

— Alden, age 10

“The way Emma Rose taught me was amazing and I learned and had a-lot of fun. She is a really nice genuine person that a lot of people can relate to”

— Pilar, age 9

Parents:

"Emma Rose is a true gem in our little community. My son really enjoys her classes because she is “fun,” but even more, I love her classes because she brings out a confidence in him that truly lights up a room. She empowers children to be their most authentic selves in such genuine, enthusiastic, and supportive ways that, as a parent, it’s a sincere joy whenever my child asks to sign up for one of her workshops/classes." — Amanda C.

“After participating in Emma Rose’s dance class, Pilar came home full of creativity. She was so excited to redecorate her room and choreograph new dances. It is clear the class supported her embodiment and creative spirit.” — Katie B.
