Set during the London Blitz, Alice By Heart is a bold coming-of-age musical filled with humor, wit, and hauntingly beautiful moments.
From the TONY and GRAMMY award-winning creators of Spring Awakening, the story follows a group of young people finding connection and courage in the midst of uncertainty. With a rich, contemporary score and unexpected twists, it’s a story that stays with you.

In the rubble of the London Blitz of World War II, Alice Spencer’s budding teen life is turned upside down, and she and her dear friend Alfred are forced to take shelter in an underground tube station. When the ailing Alfred is quarantined, Alice encourages him to escape with her into their cherished book and journey down the rabbit hole to Wonderland.
As they travel through the tale, ALICE BY HEART explores the poignancy of first love, coming to terms with loss, and finding the courage to move forward — Encouraging us all to celebrate the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times.

The production explores mature themes, mild language, innuendo, and a scene in which the caterpillar and other characters smoke an opium-like substance. Younger audience members are welcome to attend with permission from a parent or guardian.

On Saturday, April 25 at 7pm, Broadway veteran Andrew Kober, who originated the role of Dr. Butridge / Jabberwock in the original Off-Broadway production, will join for a post-show conversation with the students and the audience. Andrew has appeared on Broadway in recent revivals of Hair, Les Miserable, and She Loves Me!
Andrew Kober joins us for a special opportunity to connect our community with an artist from the show’s beginnings!
